Documents Required: (1) Passport (copy); (2) Power of Attorney; (3) Residence Permit; (4) Housing rental contract (usually two year minimum period required); (5) Inventory signed by Customer (with values) in Czech; (6) Must state make, model and serial number and declare the value of any hi-tech equipment (computers, stereos, etc.); (7) Special clearance may occur for antiques, works of art, paintings, etc.; (8) Letter from employer confirming position of Customer and stating that employer will pay any duties or taxes applicable; (9) Authorization from Customer for Destination Agent to arrange Customs clearance; (10) The Customs office will require bank guarantee of 50% of the total value of the shipment. The bank guarantee will be returned to the Customer after the export documents, stamped at the border, are hand delivered to the Customs office.
Customs Regulations: - Customer does not need to be present in the Czech Republic when the shipment arrives - Household goods and personal effects are not permitted until Customer's employer has a license to do business in the Czech Republic - Customer must be accredited and registered with the local authorities in the Czech Republic or he must be employed by a foreign embassy Dutiable/Restricted Items include new items, foodstuff, and commercial goods. As for the alcohol, it is restricted to the following: wine – 2 liters per person maximum, spirits – 1 liter per person maximum. Tobacco can be carried not more than 200 cigarettes or 250 grams. Anything above the maximum is subject to duty, VAT and SPD (excise tax). Moreover, tobacco products and plants will need a FITO Certificate.
Prohibited Items: firearms may only be imported after a gun license has been issued, weapons, drugs, fresh meat, pornographic material.
Pets require Certificate of Health. |
