Documents Required: original passport for customer and his family; itemized valued inventory (List all electrical items separately, stating brand, model and serial number); form A obtained from Customs at airport of arrival; returning residents and foreigners also require (Transfer of Residence Form and Certificate of employer); ensure customer's name written on all packages and documents is the same as shown in his/her passport.
Customs Regulations - Customer must be in Bangladesh at the time of customs clearance - Household goods and personal effects must arrive within six months of Customer - Personal effects, household goods and electronic/electrical goods for non-privileged shipments are subject to duty, tax and VAT - Household goods and personal effects don’t have to be mixed with commercial goods. Such items as office furniture, stationary and office machinery are considered commercial goods.
Dutiable/Restricted Items: (1) Alcohol, tobacco and food; (2) Hunting guns are permitted with proper and prior declaration; (3) Antiques, sterling silver and gold should be declared to facilitate re-export.
Prohibited Items: drugs and narcotics, pornographic or subversive literature, ammunition and firearms, gold bullion, construction material in commercial quantity, and gambling instruments.
Pets: (1) Veterinary Certificate of Health (not more than seven days old); (2) Rabies vaccination; (3) Prior permission from the Director of Live Stock from the Government of Bangladesh is required; (4) Letter of "no objection" from the Bangladesh government. |
